What does Garita store on my phone?
Only your choices: the language, the theme, the favorites and the alerts. There are no accounts, so we don't store anything that says who you are.
Garita stores a few things in the browser or the installed app, so that next time you don't start from scratch.
- The language you chose, for one year.
- The theme: light, dark or follow the sun.
- Your favorite lines, the ones in the “Favorites” tab.
- How long alerts stay on screen.
- Whether you've already seen the welcome and the help, so they don't repeat.
- Until March 2027, a random number and the day of your first visit, to count how many different people use Garita and how many come back. It doesn't say who you are, and it's erased with “Don't count my visits on this device”, on the privacy page.
If you tapped “Notify me” and accepted notifications, we also store what belongs to that alert. We cover that in another question in this section.
If you clear your browser data, all of this is lost and Garita starts out as it did the first time.
You might also find this useful
- Does Garita know where I am?Only if you tap “Where am I” and give permission. Your location stays on your phone, unless you tell us about a problem and tick the box.
- What do the “Notify me” notifications store?Just enough to tell you when your bus arrives. It's erased when it arrives, when you cancel, or after two hours, whichever comes first.
