Settings and privacy
What you can change, what is stored on your phone and what data Garita uses.
- What can I change in the settings?Tap the gear on the map screen to choose the theme, the language, the alerts and whether routes are drawn.
- How do I set Garita to light or dark?By default it changes on its own: light by day and dark by night, following Maldonado's sun. You can also set it yourself.
- How long do alerts stay on screen?By default, an alert stays until you close it. In the settings you can have it go away on its own after 10 seconds or after 1 minute.
- What does Garita store on my phone?Only your choices: the language, the theme, the favorites and the alerts. There are no accounts, so we don't store anything that says who you are.
- Does Garita know where I am?Only if you tap “Where am I” and give permission. Your location stays on your phone, unless you tell us about a problem and tick the box.
- Do I need an account or to give my details? No. Garita doesn't ask for a name, email or phone number, has no accounts and has no ads.
- What do the “Notify me” notifications store?Just enough to tell you when your bus arrives. It's erased when it arrives, when you cancel, or after two hours, whichever comes first.
